painting the heart balloons
I finished the heart balloons in the Spring of 2024 after starting the under painting the prior February. This painting is one of my proudest accomplishments - the original hangs in my bedroom and I get to look at it everyday!
The inspo: I’m super inspired by artist Erica Lee Sears. Her work inspired me to start this painting.
This painting was HARD. Here’s a look at the process:
My favorite part of this painting? The all-black background. I also started a painting of my younger sibling Theo while wrapping this painting up, and it was pink pink pink everywhere getting to paint the balloons and Theo’s pink dress.
Some proud accomplishments that came about from this painting:
1) I presented this painting in my first art show with my classmates at our local studio.
2) I got to sell prints of this painting at a local shop alongside my studio classmates.
3) I made my first sellable merch: magnets! They sold out twice.
